Mail Girl

Years ago, my nephew Thomas took an exceptional interest in the mail, the mailman, and all things mail related. Cora seems to be following in his footsteps. I think a key ingredient to Mail-mania is having a slot in your door in which the mail drops. This way, it is an event! When Cora hears the mail arrive she stops whatever she is doing and rushes to the front door to examine the day's catch.

She will examine each piece, and then hand them to me. Some days are more exciting than others. Two days ago we came down from naps and the mail was waiting for us. Cora began with a Walmart advedrtisement that was dedicated to dog and cat products. She was spellbound! Immediately flipping through it, she kept saying "Doggie mail! Doggie mail!" She never let me have this piece, and I told her it was mail for her. She carried it to snack at the table, and was reading it like a newspaper while she munched. The rest of the day she dragged her mail around, and it got a lot of love.

The next two days have been very disappointing for her. Each day she has looked for "Doggie mail" and only found the boring stuff. Maybe she will get lucky next week!

That is a good activity. Lilly likes to get the mail too.
