Cora in Action

Cora has been providing a lot of fodder for laughs lately so I thought I would share:

The Evil Scientist:
Cora's routine for meals is that she eats in her chair for a while, then signs and says "all done" we get one more bite in her, wipe her off and set her down. But really, she is not done, she just wants to sit on my lap and eat off of my plate until she is really done. Last night she gave the "all done" and Brian looked at her and said "Are you going to go sit on mommy's lap?" Cora smiled at him, said yeah, then threw her head back and gave a "Bwah-ha-ha-ha" evil scientist laugh. We both about fell out of our chairs from a fit of laughter.

Regression?
I know a lot of people have children quickly and notice regression in their older child about the same time. Well, I can tell you that you don't need a newborn to spark regression. The last couple of days Cora has taken to throwing herself on the floor. Declaring "baby!" and crawling around the floor. It is really funny to watch since she hasn't crawled for almost 7 months.

The magic of kisses
We have taught Cora to blow kisses to people as part of the whole signing thing. She has learned the power of this to evoke smiles and kisses back. Nearly every day we go into a store called Zara that has a beautiful glass elevator. We are only there for the elevator, and all the employees know it, especially the security guard who stands at the entrance. I worried about whether we would be welcome on a daily basis, but Cora resolves this by entering every day blowing kisses and smiling at the guard, who breaks into a smile, and often blows a few kisses back. We win!

Cora crawling around immediately took me back to Tyra, probably around that age, constantly crawling around (an easy comparison with that wispy blonde hair on both girls.)

I was so glad when Eli blew us a kiss or 2 when he was just here, but it did make me miss Miss Cora and her sweet kisses too!

Are you trying to eat as fast as you can now, Janine, so you're mostly done by the time Cora sits on your lap?
