Step one: Sweep
Step two:Mop
Step three:Sweep one last time
Step four:Clean out the Pots
Step five:Decorate
First we took everything out of the patio that would get in the way, chairs, pots, etc. We only had two brooms so we took turns sweeping, and sweeping, and sweeping. The floor was looking considerably less dirty, but there were some spots that wouldn't come off so we moved to step 2, mopping. We found two mops, 2 towels, a sponge, and a bucket we could use. Rosie and Clara each used a mop while I alternated between the sponge and filling up the bucket. This was by far the longest step. It had probably been years since someone had cleaned the patio, there was dried mud, bird poop, and more glued to the floor. Clara complained that she was tired and wanted a break so she went inside, closing the door behind her. The door to the patio can only be opened on the outside, so me and Rosie were locked inside. I went to follow Clara so I could fill up the bucket when I saw Clara smiling at me with the door shut. "Clara! Let us in!" Me and Rosie yelled. After about two minutes she let us in and left to play video games. Rosie and I found another bucket that we brought outside. Clara finally returned, we decided to dump water over the patio to get the last stuff off. We had Clara shut the door while we did so the water wouldn't get inside the house. But of course when we finished and told her to let us in she just smiled. She twisted the doorknob so it barely didn't open, but her hand slipped, the door opened all the way and Rosie and I went inside. We took a break to watch Gravity Falls, the best show ever, and then went back outside. We dried off the rest of the floor and swept. Clara decided to take a break again. She tried to lock us in, but we grabbed the door before she shut it all the way. We moved on to the pots. This was the most disgusting one of them all.The pots were filled with dirty water, and one even looked like it had bloody mosquito eggs. What we did was filled the pots up with water, dump it down the drain, fill it up again and use a stick to get stuff off the edges and the inside and then dump it out. Clara conveniently missed this entire step. There had to at least of been 30 pots filled with who knows what. Some of the pots even had shards of other pots in them. The patio was such a mess we had to mop it again. Eli and Sam went to the kitchen for a snack, found out what we were doing and offered to help. A couple of minutes later Clara appeared, though this time she didn't lock us out. With everyone's (Except Ellie who was to busy with her phone) help we finished fast and toweled everything down. Now came the fun part, decorating. We wanted to go to the store to get decorations, but none of the adults did so we just worked with what we had. We wiped off the table and moved it to the center, got six stools for the table, organized the pots in a decorative way, and enjoyed a well deserved snack in our renovated patio. We did over three and a half hours work on the patio but it was worth. I still clean it about every other day to keep it looking and feeling nice.
The End.
