Exploring the Bell Tower
At the edge of our plaza there is a cathedral with a bell tower on top, to access it you go through a little door which brings you to 5 flights of stairs. The first 3 are stone and the last 2 are wooden. If you look down at the stone stairs, the pattern they form looks kind of like a Nautilus shell. There are two sets of bells, one with large bells on either side of you in varying sizes, and if you go up the last flight, one wall of an assortment of little bells in all sorts of sizes. We waited until one to see if they would go of...but they didn't! Instead of going of every hour they go off at random times, like 11:15, or 2:30. I wonder whether it has any meaning, like when school starts or gets out.
